Yin, Vinyasa flow, and classical yoga
Vinyasa comes from Sanskrit and means “conscious arrangement” or “to place in a special way.” The practice is defined by a smooth stream of movements synchronised with the breath—each posture flowing naturally into the next. Vinyasa builds strength, stamina, concentration, and presence, turning movement into meditation. It teaches us to move through change with more ease, awareness, and trust in life’s rhythm. Hatha yoga joins “Ha” (sun) and “Tha” (moon)—symbolising balance between active and receptive energies within us. It is one of the most traditional forms of yoga: poses are held with attention to breath, alignment, and inner sensation. Hatha builds stability, strength, and awareness, creating space for a deeper connection between body, mind, and breath. Yin yoga is a quiet, deeply introspective practice inspired by Daoist philosophy and the concept of Yin and Yang. Postures are held longer to reach deeper tissues—fascia, joints, and meridians. The practice encourages release, patience, and the capacity to stay present without constant doing. Yin grows not through force, but through softness, acceptance, and inner stillness. 💛
